MISSION STATEMENT
The Sonora High Trap Club will be an opportunity for youth athletes to experience safe shooting and handling of firearms while competing in both individual and team competition through the California Youth Shooting Sports Association.
GOALS
The goal of the coaching staff of Sonora High School Trap Club is to provide the youth athletes with a positive experience in the sport of trap shooting. This club is an opportunity for youth athletes to participate in a safe and supervised shooting sports environment that promotes safety and skill development. The Club’s NRA Certified Coaches will focus on teaching responsibility, commitment, leadership, team work, safe firearm handling and sound shooting fundamentals. The coaches will encourage and assist youth athletes to set and achieve attainable goals in both an individual and team competition environment. We the coaches believe these goals will further support safe shooting practices, through safe teaching and experience, for shooting sports within our state. This will also continue the tradition of Shooting, Hunting and Community Involvement.
